Hollowmere is an online world in the browser. One server holds one island, and everyone who is signed in walks around it together. The server decides everything: where you move, what you gather, what you hit. Your browser draws the island and sends your clicks.
Getting started
Open Play, pick a name and connect a wallet on Robinhood Chain. You sign one message and you're in. New wanderers start in the village square with a tin hatchet, a tin pick, a reed net and 25 marks.
Controls
- Click the ground to walk.
- Click a tree, a rock or a shoal to gather from it. You keep working until it runs out, your pack is full or you click elsewhere.
- Click the furnace, anvil, fire, store or task board to open it.
- Click a creature to fight it.
- Click food in your pack to eat it; right-click any item to drop it.
- Press Enter to chat with everyone on the island.
Skills
Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Smithing, Cooking and Fighting each level from 1 to 50. Level L needs 30 × (L − 1)^2.2 XP: about 3,800 XP for level 10, 32,600 for 25 and 157,000 for 50.
Gathering
| Birch · Alder · Blackwood | Woodcutting 1 · 12 · 25 · needs a hatchet |
| Tin · Cobalt · Silverstone | Mining 1 · 12 · 25 · needs a pick |
| Minnow · Eel · Pike | Fishing 1 · 12 · 25 · needs a reed net |
Every two seconds you get a chance to gather. Higher levels and better tools raise the chance. Trees and veins run out about one time in three and grow back after a while; shoals never run out.
Making things
- Furnace: two ores make a bar (tin 1, cobalt 12, silver 25).
- Anvil: bars and a log make hatchets and picks; bars make blades. Cobalt and silver tools gather faster.
- Cooking fire: raw fish become food. Low levels burn some; the chance falls as you level.
Fighting
Reed rats (level 2) live west of the village, bog hounds (9) in the south-east bog, marsh wights (20) at its heart. Your health is 10 plus your Fighting level and comes back slowly on its own; food brings it back fast. A blade adds to your hits. If you're knocked out you wake up in the village with everything you carried.
The village store
The store buys anything for marks at a fixed price and sells starter tools and a blade. Marks stay in the game: they can't be withdrawn or exchanged for tokens or ETH.
Daily tasks
Every wallet gets three tasks a day, picked to suit its levels, for example "Cut 10 birch logs" or "Clear 3 bog hounds". They reset at 00:00 UTC. Claim the reward in the Tasks tab once a task is done.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard ranks wallets by XP gained during the week, Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC. Task rewards count. The week's ranks are final when it ends.
Prizes
Each week's prize is split among the top 10: 25%, 18%, 13%, 10%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 4% and 4%. After the week ends, a winner opens the leaderboard, picks the previous week and presses Claim. The server signs the wallet's exact amount; the prize pool contract checks that signature and pays the wallet once. The signature names the contract, the chain, the week, the wallet and the amount, so it can't be reused. The weekly prize amount is shown on the home page.
Sign-in and entry
Signing in is an off-chain signature of a short message that names Hollowmere, your wallet and the time. It costs no gas and gives the game no access to your funds. Once the Hollowmere token is live on pons, a wallet needs to hold at least 100,000 tokens to enter.
Fair play
- The server runs every roll; the browser can't make you faster or luckier.
- One wallet plays in one tab at a time.
- Chat is limited in length and speed.
- Accounts that automate play can be removed from the leaderboard.
Token
The Hollowmere token launches on pons. Its address will be listed here and on the home page.
